Who Is Downvent?
Downvent is a fictional anime-inspired grunge band from Nayasa Bay — a fading port city haunted by ambition, lost tapes, and the ghost of the scene that almost was. Think if Nirvana had been trapped in an alternate universe and scored their own anime. It’s loud, flawed, and just barely holding together. That’s the point.
What Is This Project?
This site is the central hub for The Dropout Files, a multimedia story told through comics, lyric videos, fake radio interviews, and a wiki-style lore archive. It’s part band project, part fictional documentary, and part nostalgic fever dream for anyone who ever stayed too long at a basement show.
Everything you see — the band, the city, the record store flyers, the demo tapes — is part of a parallel music culture stitched together from memory, myth, and caffeine. Some of it even happened. Probably.

What’s New
The lyric video for “Hell of a Life” just dropped — featuring flaming game shows, unskippable ads, and at least one questionable decision by Dirk. Meanwhile, Luna unearthed a few zines from the early tour days, and someone’s been tagging old setlists in the Echo archive. We’re not saying it was Coatrack, but it was definitely Coatrack.
Watch: Hell of a Life
Some nights, the only thing you serve is attitude.
