Preface: What This Is (And Isn’t)
I didn’t mean to start an archive. I meant to find an old flyer. A setlist. A voice I missed.
Instead, I found boxes. Tapes. Ticket stubs with blood on them. A letter I never mailed.
I didn’t know what to do with all that noise. So I started writing.
This is not a history.
It’s not in order. It’s not complete.
Some of it’s wrong.
Some of it’s honest in the way you can only be when the person you’re writing about won’t read it.
This is what I remember.
This is what I can prove.
This is what I kept.
The Dropout Files aren’t about the hits or the fallouts or the breakups.
They’re about what it felt like in the seconds before the lights came up.
About the moments we didn’t realize were endings until long after.
You won’t find all the answers here.
But you’ll find what we left behind.
