πŸ“ Dropout Alley Wall Flyers

Filed by L. Wren

Taped over, rained on, nearly forgotten. I scanned them before the ink could vanish for good. Couldn’t let them disappear twice.

Some of these were stapled to telephone poles on nights the power went out.
Some were taped to the walls behind The Spill, bleeding ink down concrete.
Some I peeled off with my own hands before they got buried under someone else’s noise.

Dropout Alley wasn’t just where shows got announced β€” it’s where they almost happened.
The flyers were fast, crooked, and almost always wrong.
Half the bands didn’t show.
Half the gear didn’t work.
All of it mattered anyway.

🧷 What You’ll See Here:

  • Grainy co-bill flyers for bands who weren’t speaking that week
  • Handwritten notebook paper lineups with question marks and crossed-out names
  • Promo posters edited in Sharpie: CANCELLED, WHO?, MYSTERY SET
  • Doodles, typos, misspellings β€” all left in
  • One flyer that simply says: β€œTONIGHT. VOLUME WINS.”

These weren’t made to last. That’s why I kept them.

β€œYou could judge a scene by its flyers. But you had to squint.”
