๐ Dropout Alley Wall Flyers
Filed by L. Wren
Taped over, rained on, nearly forgotten. I scanned them before the ink could vanish for good. Couldnโt let them disappear twice.
Some of these were stapled to telephone poles on nights the power went out.
Some were taped to the walls behind The Spill, bleeding ink down concrete.
Some I peeled off with my own hands before they got buried under someone elseโs noise.
Dropout Alley wasnโt just where shows got announced โ itโs where they almost happened.
The flyers were fast, crooked, and almost always wrong.
Half the bands didnโt show.
Half the gear didnโt work.
All of it mattered anyway.
๐งท What Youโll See Here:
- Grainy co-bill flyers for bands who werenโt speaking that week
- Handwritten notebook paper lineups with question marks and crossed-out names
- Promo posters edited in Sharpie: CANCELLED, WHO?, MYSTERY SET
- Doodles, typos, misspellings โ all left in
- One flyer that simply says: โTONIGHT. VOLUME WINS.โ
These werenโt made to last. Thatโs why I kept them.
โYou could judge a scene by its flyers. But you had to squint.โ
