π§ About This Track
Hell of a Life is Downvent at their most burned-out and sarcastically self-aware. Originally recorded at Alley Dog Studios during what fans now call the βMEH Era,β the song deals with cycles of failure, distraction, and numb persistence. It later became the theme for one of the band’s strangest and most visually intense lyric videos.

Hell of a Life [Verse 1] I was born a bastard Then I lived that way Took bad advice Partied everyday [Chorus] It don't matter if I paid the price It's still one hell of a life [Verse 2] I wasted time Wasted some more Then I got wasted Puked on the floor [Chorus] It don't matter when you're 25 It's still one hell of a life [Bridge] Because it's my life It's my life It's my life to waste Because it's my life It's my life It's my life to waste [Verse 3] Getting older Doesn't always make you wise When I was younger I was happy and shy [Chorus] It don't matter if I just lied It's still one hell of a life And it don't matter if I paid the price It's still one hell of a life [Bridge] Because it's my life It's my life It's my life to waste Because it's my life It's my life It's my life to waste
